Afrika Speaks with Alkebu-Lan on Galaxy Radio 18/03/19 – Can we overcome the FEAR and FREE ourselves?

March 18, 2019 Alkebu-Lan

As Afrikan people face global genocide, those engaged in the fight back are tasked with finding ever more innovative ways to raise the consciousness of the people. One of the key sites of the battle is around information and propaganda. One of the media warriors meeting this challenge head on is Kenya-based activist and broadcaster Dr. Mumbi Seraki. Dr Mumbi, hosts two shows on her Youtube channel: AfricaWatch – The ongoing global war for and over Africa and (Wednesdays) and Prophetic Sundays – an encouraging word for the season. In less than two years she has amassed almost a hundred and twenty thousand subscribers and over ten million views.

Afrika Speaks caught up with Dr Mumbi while on a visit to the UK to explore some of these issues. We looked at the pre-existing information deficit in the Motherland and how social media is making big inroads. We also explored the underlying psychological issues, borne out of generations colonialism and neo-colonialism, that means even when equipped with the information some of us are unable to act to utilise it. Thus we still have to contend with phenomena such as white saviour complex where European values, religions, science and culture still exert undue influence. Dr Mumbi urges us to galvanise our people, based on our Ancestral traditions while utilising modern communication technology to bring our people to the ‘tipping point’ of consciousness.
