Afrika Speaks with Alkebu-Lan on Galaxy Radio 20/07/20 – What kind of future do our young people want to see?

July 20, 2020 Alkebu-Lan

The revolutionary leader and theorist from Guinea-Bissau, Amilcar Cabral famously said:

“Our children are the flowers of our struggle and the principal reason for our fight.”  (1)

With this in mind we speak to an even younger cohort than features of the previous show.  Tonight, we speak to school children with an average age of fourteen to share their thoughts on the impact and implications of the Black Lives/Police Protests.

We ask the question:

What kind of future do our young people want to see?

1) What impact have the protests had on you?

2) Have you attended any?

3) What impact has the “lockdown” had on you and your peers?

4) What things in the community would like to see in place to benefit you?
