Dealing with this issue over the course of several shows has shown that, whatever your historical, political or scientific perspective, it is institutional power that will ultimately determine actions. This is the power to mediate what is and isn’t “acceptable” discourse.
Even the mildest query of the official narrative is shut down with cries of “ant-vaxxer!” Moreover, even discussions of whether the Covid vaccine will be made mandatory are moot. The social pressure to comply is much more compelling, coming as it does in the guise of mass consent.
Given the perennially precarious state of the Afrikan community refusing the vaccine could also have devastating effects – especially if it’s linked to education, employment, housing, travel and general social engagement. In these cases it may not matter whether you trust the vaccine, it’s maker or the industry that backs it, it may just be a matter of economic survival. This is something that the community needs to get to grips with
We ask the question:
Covid-19 Vaccine pt 5: What’s Our Agenda?
1) Is it sensible to refuse the vaccine if your job, education, etc. depends on it?
2) What safety net can we offer to those who fall foul of the vaccine euphoria?
3) Is it too late for the Afrikan commuity to put the necessary structures in place?
4) Should repatriation now be seriously on the agenda?
