While the Afrikan world still mourns the passing of Tanzania president John Pombe Magufuli, those in the UK can send condolences to Tanzania High Commission: condolences@tzhc.uk. Moreover, the Alkebu-Lan Revivalist Movement will be memorializing him at the upcoming Shumira (traditional Afrikan worship) taking place online at 1pm on Umoja-day (Sun) 4th April (https://www.alkebulan.org/event/next-shumira/).
However, the emerging consensus in the Pan-Afrikan community is that his death was not from natural causes. (1) With this being the case, it once again raises serious concerns about the safety and sovereignty of the Motherland when one of it’s most popular sons can be dispatched, seemingly at the fortuitous convenience of global Europe. (2)
So we wonder where the project of what Dr P.L.O. Lumumba calls the “Magufulification of Africa” is at now. (3) Magufulification, or Magufulisation as it is also known is the:
“Vision and mission to translate the spirit of the leadership paradigm of President John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania into a leadership model, inspiration, motivation, challenge, change, possibility, and a new leadership paradigm for African leaders. The ultimate aim is to reenact and restore the leadership values of Africa’s post-independence revolutionary leaders like Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, of Ghana, Julius Nyerere, of Tanzania, Patrice Lumumba, of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Thomas Sankara, of Burkina Faso, Jerry John Rawlings, of Ghana, Ahmed Sékou Touré, of Guinea, epitomised by President John Pombe Magufuli of Tanzania. The Magufulisation of Africa is the way forward for Africa’s leadership renaissance in the 21st-century.” (4)

We ask the question:
Magufuli Part 2: What Now?
1) If Magufuli was assassinated what does this say about Afrikan sovereignty?
2) What is Magufulification in practice?
3) Is it really “the way forward for Africa’s leadership renaissance in the 21st-century”?
4) Can it survive the death of its namesake?
5) What is the role of the global Pan-Afrikan community?
