Conservative Party leadership candidate and former Justice Minister Robert Jenrick called the Martyn Blake, the police killer of unarmed Chris Kaba a “Hero,” while the Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said the bringing the prosecution in the first place was “crushing the spirit of good officers” and was making London less safe. (1) Perhaps London’s top cop believes that his mission to “bring more trust, less crime and high standards to the Met” includes extrajudicial killings and has been accomplished. (2) Although it not clear how this affects the status of his “Race Action Plan” launched last month with a “commitment to strengthening trust among Black Londoners.” (3)
The response of the establishment to Blake’s acquittal are indicative of an increasing divide of who does and doesn’t deserve justice as we recall the high profile sympathy for racist, terrorist thugs who rampaged against the police and public last summer who received more lenient sentences than peaceful protesters. (4)
Not surprisingly, such an authoritarian posture, from the Conservatives and now labour, includes attacks on the so-called fourth estate, the news media. The most recent high profile instances include white journalists who oppose Israel’s alleged genocide in Gaza. Asa Winstanley and Sarah Wilkinson whose homes have been raided by police, Kit Klarenberg, Richard Medhurst and Craig Murray, who were detained under anti-terror legislation at airports as they arrived back in the UK. Jewish activist Tony Greenstein was arrested at his home. (5)
However, in the spirit of the ‘special relationship’ it may only be a matter of time before attention is turned to Afrikan voices like the USA has done with African Stream and it’s fallacious prosecution of the Uhuru 3. (6)
The state continues to support police lying and killing with impunity vis-a-vis the Afrikan community with any apparent sanction rolled back, as we have seen most recently with the Bianca Williams/Ricardo Dos Santos and Chris Kaba cases. (7) They are aided in this enterprise by the mainstream white grievance media that relentlessly touts the necessity for “free speech” then rails against any affirmation of Afrikan life, including going after the Runnymede Trust for criticising the Blake verdict. (8) As journalist Afua Hirsch once said: “Even in our history month, black people are the repeated victims of cancel culture.” (9) Clearly there is a need to develop effective strategies against this.

So tonight we ask the question:
Is the UK becoming a Police State?
1) Have the police “strengthened trust among Black Londoners”?
2) Why are journalists being arrested under anti-terror legislation?
3) Does true “free speech” exist in the UK?
4) How can we develop effective strategies against being “cancelled”?
