(19th May) of Omowale Malcolm X – the ‘Godfather of Black Power,’ and most prolific Black Nationalist Pan-Afrikanist Leader and Organiser since The Most Eminent Prophet & King – His Excellency: Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Moreover, his worth was acknowledged both at home and abroad. Indeed, it was in Afrika that the name Omowale was bestowed upon him to which he replied: “I meant it when I told them I had never received amore treasured honor.”

Indeed, it was in Afrika that the name Omowale was bestowed upon him to which he replied: “I meant it when I told them I had never received amore treasured honor.”Omowale Malcolm X rose, from a self-confessed “extreme delinquent” and streets Hustler, to a diehard Revolutionary, organising the same streets in the spirit of Black Liberation & Afrikan Pride. His work and impact thus stands as a prime example of the Power Potential of Black Manhood, the greatest threat against the forces of White Supremacy, which assassinated him.
In keeping with the adage “every proud people pay tribute to the major contributors to their history,” the Alkebu-Lan Revivalist Movement are organising a community observance to commemorate the 50 years since he paid the ultimate price when he was brutally shot to death in front of his wife and children. The commemoration takes place at 1pm on Sunday 22/02/15 at the Triange Centre, 91-93 St Ann’s Road, London N15 6NU. Admission is free (donations are welcome – http://alkebulan.org/). Similarly, he Organization of Black Unity have organised “Year X” a year long programme of events celebrating the life of Omowale Malcolm X “exploring his often misunderstood legacy.” The next event is entitled, “What Would Malcolm Say?” where they will using the words and insights of Omowale Malcolm X to analyse contemporary issues.
